Bounce
by Rita Bosch
My name
is Rita Bosch, I decided to tell Bounce's story, if she could tell her story.......
and what she would have to say about her ordeal with Cancer and her treatment
by the wonderful folks at VOHC.......
Here we go.......
My name is Bounce, that's Sunfire's Too Hot to Handle, O.D. ( my akc
name).......
I am not here anymore but I would like to take the opportunity to tell my
story.......
I passed away 7, 2006, not from cancer, (although, I had been going thru
Chemo treatments for 1 year)...... I also had some de-generative problems
with my hind legs....which usually takes its toll on us doggies, even if
we do not get sick......
that was why I passed away....
I WAS A CANCER SURVIVOR, THANKS TO THE LOVING CARE I RECEIVED FROM EVERYONE
AT VOHC IN NORWALK, CT......
I had a long history of tumors during the last 5 years of my life, some
benign, and some were malignant, but very low grades of malignancy.
I was one of the lucky ones....
My Mom, Rita Bosch, was very well in-tuned with me and was always having
any lumps checked out....
I had surgeries for vasular, mass cell, paracytomas, mammory and nerve
sheeth tumors .....WOW!!!!!!
But.....then an oral Skin Lymphoma Sarcoma surfaced just as the nerve
sheeth tumor had been removed from my back leg....My Mom decided to
take me to VOHC and have me check out by Dr. Lakowitz, one of the Oncolgists
there......
After a thorough examination and blood work, it was thought that Chemo
Therapy would work best on my cancer....
At First I seem to adapt well to the treatment, but it started taking it's
toll on me, so the doctor's thought it would be best to try another form
of Chemo.... and that worked well. There were a few set backs, but
all in all I was able to sustain for a full YEAR! Without the Chemo treatments,
my Skin Lymphoma Sarcoma would have probably shorten my last year with my
Mom!
My Mom will always be greatful for the care I was given by eveyone at VOHC.
She still does and always will speak very highly of Dr. Lakowitz, Dr. Post,
Dr. Brodsky, and the girls, Allison, Whitney and Cindy, they were wonderful
helping her cope with my illness. I also got a chance, everytime I
was there for treatments or a check up to hang out with the girls at the
desk, that was really cool!
I am resting comfortably now and had a very good life and the best of care!
My daughter Baby Bounce is now living with my Mom and she stops by periodically
just for visits. Baby Bounce will have yearly Ultra Sounds done, just
to make sure she is ok, given my history with cancer. But that didn't
change my Mom's mind about adopting her, she loves her just like she loved
me......
Unconditionally,,,,,,,,,,Just the way I loved her!
Thank you VOHC! You are the best!!!!!!
Bounce
and Rita Bosch
Thank you guys, I Iove you all!
