I’m Bocker the Labradoodle, have we met?

You may have seen me in any number of magazines where I appeared as a print ad fashion model. I’ve been on television, in the movies, a radio and social media personality, certified therapy dog, tail wagging tutor, and author of Chasing Bocker’s Tale. Some call me a celebrity but I am just one lucky doodle, always ready to lend a helping paw.

What has become the biggest part of my life? I Collared Cancer!

Diagnosed with lymphoma one year ago, I’m writing a new, very unexpected chapter in my

life, but one where I can help raise awareness.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society estimates that there are “1,185,053 people in the United States living with, or in remission from leukemia, lymphoma or myeloma.”

According to the National Cancer Institute, approximately 500,000 dogs like me develop lymphoma each year!

What Can the Canine Cancer Genome Reveal About Cancer?

So much! My mom Marie and I discovered that my lymphoma and a person’s lymphoma are genetically very similar. While the human cancer genome has been mapped, the canine cancer genome map is lagging far behind.

Mapping the canine cancer genome and comparing it to the human cancer genome will allow cancer researchers to accelerate design of personalized medicine to fight cancer!

Animal Cancer Foundation has worked since 1999 to unite pet and human research for a cure™ and now is no exception.

Please join me today to support Animal Cancer Foundation’s efforts to raise funds for the “Canine Cancer Genome Project” and comparative oncology research to give hope to all of us with cancer. Just think, your best friend can help find a cure for cancer. You can make a difference.
